WELCOME TO MŌRUNGA
ABOUT MŌRUNGA
We are a Franciscan property of 5 acres with the goal of providing a destination for people to come and learn, or just enjoy the peacefulness and tranquility our space offers. Walk up the top and look over the valleys and ranges, or head through our hazelnut orchards and feel the stillness beneath the boughs. Head up to our church room and quiet space and sit under the beautiful San Damiano cross and look out at Mount Ruapehu. We love our space and look forward to sharing it with you.
MŌRUNGA IN A SNAPSHOT
THE ORATORY @ MŌRUNGA
The Oratory is at the core of who we are and what we do and includes the Church of St Francis & St Clare, Reformed Old Catholic Church. Presided over by Dr. Allister Kelley OSFS, MSTh, DSTh, we are here to be a centre for the community within the Manawatu – something needed now more than ever after the events of 2020.
HAZELNUTS & RHUBARB
CATERING @ MŌRUNGA
Hazelnuts & Rhubarb is a destination caterer offering small batch, freshly made, allergen friendly, seasonal food using as much of our own grown spray-free, chemical-free produce as possible. With on-site and off-site catering, special orders, packaged food, barista coffee, and seasonal produce available there is something for everyone.
INFRARED PHOTOGRAPHY @ MŌRUNGA
Cath Kelley is bringing the invisible world around us into focus. She uses her infrared photography to capture the world as seen in the infrared light spectrum. Experience the surrealism of seeing the ordinary in a way you have never seen it before.
